Installations

FLOWING ONE from Els van Riel
A looped film-image is moving without following the pre-directed time-arrow. It is moving but not towards anything, it could be as ephemere as it is infinite.
The screen will be moving but not going anywhere. As a curtain in front of an open window wind moves the screen and makes the image go in and out of focus. A wind fan makes the screen move, the collected wind and open green data make the fan move.'

ERROR 2000, Josef Klammer, Graz, dealing with aspects of technical (a)synchronicity. A Drummer (Josef Klammer) had himself be filmed performing a solo drum piece. The recording is displayed on 4 monitors, fed from 4 DVDplayers of the same production series. The audience can watch the synchronicity disappear. Premiered at the Landesausstellung 2000 in Graz

24/7, Florian Hollerweger, Graz/Belfast, soundinstallation.
The structures of the Everyday manifest themselves through sound, whether we register it consciously, subconsciously, or not at all. Since these everyday rhythms mostly unfold themselves on time scales which exceed our short-term 'performative' memory, we are not used to experience them aesthetically.
